Perspective of the Bravo EyesOn Integration

A few months ago, Bravo announced the launch of the EyesOn integration, allowing Bravo users to achieve peace-of-mind and keep an eye on their business in real time. With this integration, EyesOn will operate within the Bravo POS system meaning that “every POS transaction is embedded into the recorded video stream for full accountability.”

As a relatively new edition to the Bravo feature list, I decided to pick the brain of security consultant Tony Gallo of Sapphire Protection to get his viewpoint of how EyesOn can transform your business operations.

The EyesOn Difference

Back in the old days, security systems ran straight from the camera to a reporting unit within the store. However, with the advent of the Internet and cloud computing, security systems are now able to transmit via the Internet. This also allows for transactions to be viewed from a remote site.

Yet, with the potential that this technology can bring to increase your security protocols, many pawn businesses aren’t leveraging their camera system to its fullest ability. The common misconception was that once you invest and install into a camera system that was it – just take the warm fuzzy feeling of an added security blanket but do nothing past that. For those who want to get the most out of their camera system, then EyesOn is for you. It is an interactive system and acts as another set of eyes for the business owner.

POS Integration

By integrating EyesOn with your POS, you are taking your entire business’ operations to the next level and receive more than enough value back to justify the investment. You can setup parameters to view particular transactions and loans, or whatever may be of value to you the decision maker. The integration will then allow you to see an overall snapshot of how your store is doing and you will be able to accurately assess how well employees are performing, analyze particular transactions, and dig into other metrics like peak traffic times.

For day-to-day operations, the owner will receive alerts of transactions, by email and/or SMS, based off of the parameters you provided. For instance, you can have it set up to receive an alert every time an employee performs a loan over $1500. In the email and/or SMS alert, you will receive a video clip attachment of that transaction in which you can then watch to determine the legitimacy of the loan and the customer service received.

Now do you see how EyesOn is essentially an additional set of eyes for the business owner? Also, EyesOn isn’t just a one size fits all solution, you can set the analytics to track whatever metrics are most important to your business. Options vary from choosing to be alerted of voided transactions, when certain dollar amounts are exceeded, or when a high volume of customers come in but few transactions are done. You can really dial down on problem areas of your business by having the physical evidence you need in order to improve and make changes.

What do EyesOn users have to say

Tony Gallo has worked with multiple clients who have implemented EyesOn with their POS system and the overwhelming majority reflect that the biggest improvement they saw is the effect EyesOn has on the accountability of customer service. EyesOn isn’t just a security system, the biggest impact it can have is an increase in customer service and employee accountability – which inevitably increases your sales and transactions.

To get optimal results, you have to educate your employees what EyesOn does and how you will be using it in your business. Let them know that you will be reviewing transactions and rewarding excellent customer service and overall performance. Hold occasional meetings and review clips where an employee really impressed you and train your team what you expect to see moving forward.

Most Importantly: Don’t think of having EyesOn as a way to catch people stealing – sure it will do that – but the mindset you need to have to get the best results is that it is a system to catch people doing good things. Use EyesOn to facilitate recognition of your staff and as a training tool for employee growth.

Tony’s Opinion

As a security consultant, Tony has dealt with a lot of security systems in many high risk businesses – not just the pawn industry – but EyesOn is definitely a preferred choice. The cameras are good, available at a great cost, and with integration capabilities, it is a cutting edge system to take your business to the next level. EyesOn is like the Cadillac of security systems – just like Bravo – and will help you to run your business more efficiently and profitably. Together, they go hand in hand because they are both trying to achieve the same thing andmake you more money.

Remember, security and theft is a perception more than actuality. A lot of business owners have the idea you need to catch something bad but really, you should be designing a loss prevention program so that you don’t have to catch them in the first place. Deliver a perception that the store has enough security that they will get caught, preventing the theft from ever occurring in the first place.
